Orchestral Opportunity

The National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain (NCO) would like to invite gifted musicians aged 7-13 from your school to audition for a place in one of our orchestras in 2013.
This June, our Main Orchestra performed for Her Majesty the Queen as part of her Diamond Jubilee celebrations. The Orchestra received great acclaim and even got the chance to be international TV stars for the day. This is just one example of the exciting opportunities that NCO musicians get to experience.

Rosendale Year 3/5/6 Choir at the Royal Festival Hall

On Friday 23rd March 2012 the Rosendale Year 3/5/6 Choir performed in the Lambeth Music festival’s ‘Primary Choirs Concert’. We had a great day out and the children gave their teachers and parents so many reasons to feel proud! It was fantastic seeing the other schools perform. We were treated to a wide range of songs from show songs to gospel, pop to classical. Inspiring stuff!

Lambeth Music Singing Festival

Tuesday 27th March was a big day for lots of children at Christ Church and Rosendale. In the afternoon The Rosendale Year 2 Festival Choir and the whole of Christ Church’s 2LN class performed at the Infant SInging festival at the Royal festival Hall. They sang a selection of great songs and their enthusiasm made everyone in the audience smile.
When they went home, it was the turn of Rosendale Year 4 choir and Christ Church KS2 Choir. They dazzled the audience with their beautiful singing at the Junior Singing Festival that took place the same evening.
A special ‘thank you’ to all the Christ Church teachers who came along to watch the Junior concert in the evening. It was lovely to have you there!
You can’t see everyone on these videos because of where they were filmed from, but the audience could see you on the day so don’t worry!I hope you enjoy remembering your lovely day of singing at the Royal Festival Hall.

Samba Band and Orchestra at the Queen Elizabeth Hall

On Wednesday 28th March 2012 the Christ Church Samba Band and the Rosendale Orchestra took part in a concert that was part of the Lambeth Music Festival. The children enjoyed being at the Southbank Centre on a beautiful sunny day, the experience of going back stage and having a dressing room, and of course the opportunity to perform at one of the country’s most prestigious concert halls. It was lovely to hear performances from Durand, Corpus Christi and Dunraven schools too. Well done to everyone who took part!
